Every hard disk is too small if you just wait long enough. TreeSize Free tells you where precious space has gone to. TreeSize Free can be started from the context menu of a folder or drive and shows you the size of this folder, including its subfolders. You can expand this folder in Explorer-like style and you will see the size of every subfolder. Scanning is done in a thread, so you can already see results while TreeSize Free is working. The space, which is wasted by the file system, can be displayed and the results can be printed in a report. TreeSize Free is freeware for Windows 2000/XP/Vista. Software Post-it Notes are just as useful as their paper equivalents, and even better, they are free and never run out.
This free version allows you to create notes on the desktop that can be set to stay on top of other windows to make an effective reminder. They can also contain pictures and weblinks to help jog memories. An alarm can be set to accompany each note and it can be repeated on a daily or weekly basis if required.
A small Post-it window is always visible and a single click creates a new note. The formatting of the notes can be changed including the font and the colour of the note.
There are two more advanced versions available from 3m with more features but at US$15 and US$25.

The Quiet Internet Pager (QIP) is an instant messaging client. It is a closed source freeware developed by a Russian developer Ilham Zyulkorneyev. Its most distinct feature is the tabbed message window -- instead of multiple message windows open when chatting with more people, only one window with several tabs is used. This is now no longer an advantage over the standard ICQ, as ICQ Version 6.0 now also includes this feature as standard. Advantages which do still exist include integrated mail.ru e-mail client, and a wider range of extra smileys. However, QIP still keeps the advantage of no advertisement in the application windows (leading to lower bandwidth usage) and much higher security standard.
