About me

Running, reading, touching the sun, and my baby (RadarSync). My new favorite project is to make Packzoola into a different kind of community, that shines the sun on the software world and where people will love to Pack, share and discover amazing, free software together (sorry my Mac friends, we're mostly a PC site for now). Check out my favorite Pack here: http://tinyurl.com/q9j9n2 Look for me online: http://friendfeed.com/noamgordon http://twitter.com/ngishere http://www.linkedin.com/in/ngishere

About This Pack

This is my Pack of the Free (and/or open source) utilities I love. I'd love to know what you think of it (my contact info is on the right). I'd also love to see a Pack you create. I think Packzoola has so much potential to let those of us who live and breathe software (and everybody else too, cuz aren't we all slaves to the box?) learn from each other's experience and knowledge. For example, I'm looking for software to help me manage my sports training -- can someone make a Pack with the 'best of' and send me the link?

  • Web-based apps suite by Adobe. You can do remote connect there too. Very beautiful. Flash, baby!
  • Download Now
  • With Bullzip you can "print" a doc to a PDF file. It's good, and free. A bit of a funny name...
  • That's what I've got for burning. Can anyone suggest anything better?
  • Free Defrag tool, coming from a snobbish firm. Hey guys, why not relax?
  • Dia is free (and open source) drawing software. Looking fwd for something like that on-line.
  • I use Google Desktop for fast search for files on my HD. Nothing besides that.
  • One of my most favorable chat app. I am using the online version, and my company is hosted by Google mail services, and now that's a good combination :-)
  • Famous old-school image viewer. Free. Cool DT icon.
  • One of the best ones out there. It actually works. Great people (from san jose - yes, Marcus!).
  • On-line pix storage, based right here in palo alto.
  • I've used VLC for years now. It works with all needed video and audio formats.
  • 100% free (for consumers) compression utility. Good job Burak of Bern!
  • Web-based. You can convert almost any format to any other format.

by roger on Defraggler (5/27/2009 9:08:01 PM) delete Is Defraggler really that good? I REALLY need to defrag and so far I've only used what comes with windows. Does Defraggler do that much better a job?---It's ok, but hard to tell... not sure I can 100% recommend this one.

I use VLC too, but lately it hasn't been able to play every video file I want to play. Anyone know a better alternative?
