AOL Active Security Monitor It looks to see if you have anti-virus software and sees if the definitions are up to date; does the same for anti-spyware; looks to see if you have a firewall enabled; and checks to see if you have peer-to-peer software that could pose a danger; among other tasks. It doesn't actually include any protection, but instead warns you that you need some. Note that the software won't work with Windows Vista. And I wouldn't always trust its recommendations, because it recommends using for-pay AOL software such as the AOL Privacy Wall, instead of necessarily recommending the best software. But if you're looking for some quick security recommendations, it's worth the download.
